For this project, we needed to create a collage drawing and illustrative drawing using a rhyming pair of words. The three rhymes I chose were Hair Chair, Corn Mourn, and Rome Gnome. Hair Chair went through a few revisions, but a longue chair with a huge mustache, a mullet, and a pipe seemed humorous enough. Corn Mourn was a combination of two sketches, a corn crying and a corn in a casket, both of which felt empty without one another. Rome Gnome had a rough sketch made, but didn't make the final cut. After several revisions and changes of backgrounds, I added eyes to the chair to make it more expressive and messed around with the colors and faces of the corn to make it feel more dramatic.
